(A reflection on Verse Four)
The house wins at Casino Samsara
But we keep betting the farm nonetheless
Always hoping to be the exception
To be the one who finds happiness
Lady Luck briefly shows but an ankle
Far more frequent the bad-handed trip
It’s like we’re all living in Vegas
Hypnotically cruising the Strip
And still I hold tight to illusion
Turn from those who are unlucky and bust
Have no mercy for dealers and cheaters
This blind eye I must no longer trust.
